7 Ways To Stay Productive

Now that we are halfway through the year I have been thinking alot about productivity. I feel there are days where I am super productive and then there are days that I am not. Does anyone else feel like this? When I get on these productivity kicks I just want to accomplish all the things. Other days I feel like I accomplish NOTHING. In this post I will be sharing the tips that I use for productivity when I really need a kick in the pants. Here are 7 ways to stay productive that will really help you!

Seven Ways to Stay Productive

Set a schedule. If you are someone who is unproductive then a schedule is a great tool for you to use. I try to schedule every single day to ensure that I am as productive as possible.

Have a to do list. I always have three or four to do lists that I work from every day. I have a general to do list, a household chores to do list, and a blog to do list and a things for the girls. This is super helpful in scheduling my day.

Keep expectations realistic. Always prioritize the most important task to the least important task  and keep your expectations realistic.

Don't over commit. This goes with the one above. You cannot overcommit.  This is something that I am always doing. Be realistic. If you have a deadline and you feel that you just can't make it, then ask for a little wiggle room. I would rather take the change of something being late than it not being done correctly.

Take breaks. I try to take several 10 minute breaks throughout my day. I read a few pages of the current book that I am reading, fold laundry, and I even play with girls.

Find a great work space. Everyone has a different idea of what this needs to be.  I can pretty much work anywhere, just give me a table and a comfortable chair and I am happy.

Remove clutter. Having a clutter free workspace is very important. It keeps you productive and it is also less stressful.

What are some ideas that you would add to this list?

Weekly and Daily Cleaning Routines For Busy Stay At Home Moms

I have been a busy stay at home mom since 2010. Staying up on housework has always been a struggle for me. I often times feel overwhelmed with trying to keep up with everything and sometimes cleaning the house is the last thing on my to do list. I always think I will get to it later, but, let's be honest that almost never happens. So, today I'm sharing with you my weekly and daily cleaning routines. These routines are extremely practical and are so easy to follow.

How to Create a Weekly and Daily Cleaning Routine

To create a weekly schedule, you must first determine the various rooms that need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Instead of trying to do all of the cleaning in one day break up your cleaning tasks by room. Clean one room (maybe two) a day, but cleaning for that room goes above and beyond what a normal clean would be.

Here is my weekly cleaning schedule:

Sunday- wash and change bed sheets.
Monday- steam mop all floors, vacuum all bedrooms.
Tuesday- dust all flat surfaces.
Wednesday- wipe down and clean out the fridge, deep clean the kitchen.
Thursday- wipe down the washer and dryer, deep clean the laundry room.
Friday- deep clean the living room and dining room.
Saturday- deep clean the bathrooms and bedrooms.

When it comes to daily cleaning, there are a few tasks that must be completed everyday, like washing the dishes. Make a list of chores that you absolutely have to get done each and everyday.
And picking up miscellaneous items and putting there up where they belong. Make a list of the chores that you absolutely have to get done each and every day. You could even assign these tasks to various members of your family to help out a bit.

Here is my daily cleaning schedule:

There are a few daily tasks that have to be done every single day. One of these tasks is the dishes. Because I cook all of our meals and I hand wash all of the dishes three times a day (I don't have a dishwasher), my kitchen can get out of hand very quickly. Let me tell you, it's not a pretty sight.

Second, another absolutely must clean area of my home are the counter tops. Every night I make sure to wipe everything before going to bed.

Third, I wash one of clothes every day. It's the only way for me to keep up with "Mt. Washmore".

Lastly, the final daily chore I do each day is make sure things that have been left out are put away in their proper places. I make to do a 15 minute tidy up around the house. It's always nice to wake up to a clean and tidy house.

What does your weekly and daily cleaning routines look like?

10 Ways to Stay Healthy

The key to getting and staying healthy is what the experts are calling a lifestyle change. This means making simple changes in your diet and exercise routine and even getting enough sleep. To help you turn your knowledge into results I have compiled a list of suggestions.

10 Ways to Stay Healthy

1. Drink plenty of water. A couple of liters a day will keep you in tip-top shape, and you won’t eat as much.

2. Be happy.  It’s easier said than done, but being in a good mood will do wonders for your health.

3. Sleep 8 hours. Getting a good night’s sleep can improve your memory, sharpen your attention, make you less stressed and potentially even live longer.

4. Do cardio. Cardio won’t just make you fitter - it can help with weight loss, increase bone density, fend off heart disease and relieve mental health issues like depression and anxiety.

5. Eat vegetables. Eat the rainbow. Brightly-coloured fruit and veggies are rich in antioxidants and vital vitamins.

6. Take the stairs. Squeeze a little more movement in by ignoring the elevator.

7. Eat fish. Fish is packed with vital nutrients like protein, vitamin D, and omega 3 fatty acids.

8. Get some sun. This is very important part of staying healthy, because sunlight helps your body produce vitamin D and help cure common skin problems like acne.

9. Eat a balanced diet packed with fruits and veggies.

10. Take some "me time". Take care of yourself, give yourself a facial or even a mani/pedi. It will make you feel better.

Girl Boss Morning Routine

A GIRLBOSS needs a special productive morning routine to be able to run her day and get sh*t done. This morning routine for every girl boss out there who wants to start their day being as productive as she an be

The Girl Boss Morning Routine

1. Open the blinds and make your bed

No, I’m not kidding. Making your bed in the morning has been proved to make you feel like you’ve accomplished something already, even if it’s small, and that motivates you to accomplish other things.
“If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task, and another, and another. And by the end of the day that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.” –Navy Seal William H. McCraven
2.Wash your face

Washing your face is something that will really wake you up for good, and make you feel energized, ready to start your day.

Staying sleepy with one eye open and one eye closed is not how you start a productive day and get shit done!

3. Make your coffee and fill in your gratitude journal

The first thing I do when I’m done washing my face is heading to my kitchen and make some coffee. Once it’s ready, I sit down and fill in my gratitude journal as I’m drinking my coffee. This is probably my favorite part of the day. It's the only quiet time I have throughout the day.

It's super simple to make your gratitude journal. You can either get the original Five Minute Journal, or you can get a notebook you like and write down your daily gratitude in a notebook you like. I just have a simple notebook that I am using.

4.Write down your to do list

Making a to do list is a huge help to organize your day and know exactly what you have to do, and where to start. It allows you to set your daily goals and knowing exactly where you’re going.
Crushing your goals and getting shit done is SO much easier when you know EXACTLY what you have to do, which is why writing down your To Do list somewhere is so important.
I usually write down my To Do list in my bullet journal, but once again, this is totally up to you!

5. 15 minutes of yoga

I’m not a huge fan of intensive workouts as soon as I wake up (nor ever, actually), but I know how beneficial morning workouts are when it comes to feeling good and be productive. So I found an alternative: Yoga.

6. Get ready for the day

It’s now time to shower, get dressed, and do your hair and makeup (if you wear any)! Even if you’re not planning on going out that day, getting dressed will put you in the right mood to accomplish every task on your to do list.

7. Start checking items on your to do list

You’re now ready, dressed, and in the right mood to conquer the world. All you have to do now, is to get shit done.

No, put on some 80's tunes and slay the day!!!

Loving: Being able to sit down after a long day of housework and taking care of my family and read my book for a little while.

Working: I just started designing a meal planner. I cannot wait to see how it turns out! I'm so excited for this new project. I am also working on a weekly planner insert that I am excited about and a note pad that I have been wanting to design for a while now. I am also working on a monthly/weekly planner. I can't wait to see how these turn out. We have also launched a weekly planner on Amazon. This is something that I have always wanted to do and it's always been my dream to have my own planner and now it has finally come true.
